Marxy's long-awaited new album Forty Years From Now has finally been released on New York's music related label. The twelve-song album was recorded, mixed, and mastered in various recording studios and bedrooms across Tokyo and New York City. The track "Cat vs. Mouse" features guest vocals from Kiiiiiii's U.T.!
The album can be pre-ordered/purchased from retailers such as Other Music (New York), DotShop (Sweden), and in Japan: HMV Japan and Warszawa. (More info on e-retailers coming soon.)

With help from Ian Lynam and Jean Snow, Marxy (W. David Marx) has launched a new web journal about Japan and elsewhere entitled Néojaponisme. Although blog-like in content roll-out, Néojaponisme features original essays, art, music, illustration, podcasts, humor, fiction, and translations.

Marxy's ep Beaus in Disarray is still available for free download at music related's web label creation-centre. The six tracks in fourteen minutes tie up loose ends from the debut album and pave the road to the new full-length. |

Marxy and U.T. (from Kiiiiiii) have released Volume Four of their podcast mega-mix Radio MXUT. The theme this round is "Kusa Kusa Blanket Showa Radio Hour" — featuring Japanese pop and rock from the late '60s and early '70s. Volume One of MXUT ("Slam, Jump, Stand") was created as part of magazine OK Fred's guest DJ podcast series. Volume Two ("Electricty!") and Volume Three ("Under 30") are still available and pretty great as far as podcasts go.

The Marxy track "Neoplasticism vs. De Stijl" (from Kyoshu Nostalgia) is included on the compliation CD accompanying the 2005 issue of premier Japanese indie music magazine Beikoku Ongaku (issue 32), along with tracks from From Bubblegum to Sky, Quantic, Plus-Tech Squeeze Box, New Buffalo, and many others. Copies are still available at news-stands across Japan. |
